Presentations
- Many people who participate in equestrian sports like dressage, eventing, show jumping, endurance or just casual riding feel anxious about some or all of their horse activities. Horses add a unique dimension to an amateur or professional athlete's experience. Understanding where anxiety can come from and how it can be managed will help to keep horse-related activities the pleasure we hope they are, for both the rider and the horse. When I gave this powerpoint presentation on "worry-less riding" to a passionate group of Triangle area equestrians, there was a request to share the information, in particular the chain of thoughts of an imaginary horse show entrant. The audience response validated for everyone how common anxious thoughts are. If you are interested in how emotions might influence our experiences in any sports, you might find the posted presentation below of interest.
