Fees

  • Billing through your health insurance requires that I provide a medical diagnosis.

  • I am an in-network provider with the NC State Health Plan administered by BCBS and most BCBS commercial and PPO plans.  This does not include Blue Value and Blue Home plans.  I am in network for most United Health Care policies, Aetna, including the NC State Health Plan beginning 2025, and Cigna.  Please confirm with your insurance company as this can change. Coinsurance, co-pay, and deductibles are due at time of service.

  • I am NOT in the Medicare or Medicaid networks

  • If you have a different insurance company, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. You will need to confirm with your insurance about your policy.

  • Out of pocket fees for anything not covered by insurance varies based on length of session and type of therapy. Most insurance companies do NOT cover psychotherapy incorporating horses.

  • Cancellation policy: In the case of late cancellations (less than 24 hour’s notice), you will be charged a $50 fee. You will be charged for the full session if a session is canceled after the session's scheduled start time or missed.  Please discuss with me, I do make exceptions in the case of illnesses and emergencies.  Insurance policies do not reimburse for missed or canceled sessions.

Good Faith Estimate of Charges
  • As required by the ‘No Surprises Act’ of 2020, all mental health providers are required to ask about client’s insurance coverage (including whether clients intend to submit claims to their insurance company) and to provide a ‘Good Faith Estimate for Heath Care Items and Services’ to all self-pay or uninsured clients when care is scheduled, or when requested by the client. I can provide this estimate to all self-pay and uninsured clients at the beginning of treatment and annually thereafter upon request. A Good Faith Estimate is not necessary at this time for clients who are planning to use their insurance benefits to cover their services, but all clients have a right to request a Good Faith Estimate at any time. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your ‘Good Faith Estimate’, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Fees are due at the time of service, and can be by check, cash, debit/credit card and some cash apps.  There is a fee for returned checks.

Appointments and Cancellation Policy.

An appointment represents time reserved personally for you.  If you need to cancel or change your appointment it is important that you call me at least 24 hours in advance or a session fee will be charged. Cancellations must be made via phone call or voice mail, not through email correspondence. Note that your insurance company will not reimburse you for missed appointments, so you will be responsible for the entire charge of the reserved time. This policy ensures that another client in need of an appointment can be seen.

If you would like to make an appointment, please call 919-360-5929.
